What will you experience at Lamb of God Lutheran traditional worship service?
The traditional worship service is centered on the worship of the true God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The worship style is more formal and follows the liturgical forms of the Western Rite which dates back to about 600 AD. We use four different orders of service: Service of the Word, Service of Word and Sacrament, Morning Praise, and the Common Service all of which are printed in Christian Worship, A Lutheran Hymnal.
The organ is the main instrument and leads us in singing many hymns. Psalms and other parts of the liturgy are often chanted in both ancient and more recent styles. Sometimes the organ is played live, other times our organist make use of MIDI technology. In addition to rich organ sounds, our MIDI system allows us to mix in many other instruments including strings, horns, and timpani. In addition, live instrumentalists (i.e. trumpets, flute) occasionally accompany.
The pastor wears an alb and stole. The Scripture readings follow the ancient pericopies. The teaching is centered on the Bible as with the contemporary service and provides practical applications to life's situations. The messages are inspirational and will encourage and challenge you in your relationship with God, family, and friends and lead you to a closer relationship with Christ. Lamb of God offers communicant members an opportunity to approach Gods table in Holy Communion His supper in which he blesses us with strength and forgiveness every 2nd and 4th Sundays. On non communion Sundays, a children's message is given in addition to the regular sermon. If you choose to attend the Lamb of God traditional service, the service is held each Sunday at 8:30 AM.
